Adding a bread machine to one’s Amazon wishlist is a sure sign of becoming “an adult”–that is, marveling over small kitchen appliances as part of our nesting and homemaking instincts. This past Christmas, I received the top notch bread making machine I’d nonchalantly added to my wishlist while shopping for others.
I LOVE IT.
Surprisingly, the simplest recipe is my favorite: French bread. Flour, salt, water, butter, yeast–that’s it. And, six hours of patience while the aroma of warm bread wafts through my home.
A few of my photography followers have commented on my lack of “food porn” as of late. This is probably because I’ve spent more time in the past year working on business marketing, sales strategies, booking and working with clients that experimenting in the kitchen. But now that I have this automatic bread maker, I can let the machine do the work while I peck away on the keyboard then spend just a few minutes photographing its perfectly cracked crust as it cools. After hours of taking in the sweet, warm aroma of bread baking, nothing is better than a thick, fresh slice with some marinara and a chunk of cheese.
The automatic bread making machine is the best thing since… well, sliced bread!
